Lesson 1: What Is an IP Strategy?
The term IP strategy can be loosely described as a game plan to develop and acquire IP assets in order to leverage them for the benefit of the business.
An IP strategy entails formulating how a business can develop and utilize its IP in a way that will help achieve business objectives. In some circumstances, an IP strategy may entail making a deliberate and informed choice not to seek any form of IP protection or to only seek it in a very limited way. This course will focus only on those circumstances in which IP protection is actively sought and a strategy around that IP is developed.
