While confidential information/trade secret protection does not require any registration formalities, you still need to protect your information with measures that are reasonable but not overly cumbersome. It is also important to make sure that the measures of protection you implement are appropriate for your business and its objectives.

Some of the things you can think about include entering into non-disclosure, non-solicitation and non-compete agreements with employees as well as with suppliers or other third parties. In all cases, you should think carefully about what you disclose, to whom you make the disclosure and on what terms. In the employment context, you might consider adopting protective employment policies.
