The message here is that you need to recognize not only that IP laws in countries may differ but so does the manner in which IP law is practised in these jurisdictions. When deciding whether to enforce your IP by way of a lawsuit, it would be advisable to factor into your decision any differences in legal practices and procedures, and the risks and/or benefits of these jurisdictional differences in light of your particular circumstances.

 

Lesson Learned

Study all the angles when deciding on your litigation strategy, whether you are suing or are the one being sued. Consider whether you should resolve the dispute out of court and what you should be prepared for when and if you do go to court.
